High Definition Versus Standard Definition
A TV picture is made up of tiny dots called pixels.
A standard definition (SD) TV programme is made up of pixels.
SD TVs were all designed with a similar number of pixels to show the programmes
in the best quality.
So, because TV programmes have -
until recently - been available in standard definition, your large screen, HD
Ready TV picture has actually been 'stretched' to fit the screen - losing some
of the quality
With freesat, some programmes are broadcast in HD which means
they'll fit perfectly on your new Panasonic Viera HD Freesat Plasma TV giving
you deeper, richer, more vivid colours. And many programmes are available with
stunning surround sound. Overall, HD on freesat gives you an unforgettable TV
experienceand with three sizes to choose from the Panasonic PZ81 is the first TV
to incorporate Freesat. For a list of suppliers and to compare prices click here
Additional features include: "24p Real Cinema" motion compensated frame interpolation (MCFI) technology and "Intelligent Frame Creation", 100Hz Double scan, 30000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, PC connection, optical audio output provision for Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound from applicable programmes. A section at the front of the TV houses the third HDMI port, an SD card slot for JPEG photo playback and AVCHD high definition camcorder movies. Smart Networking with VIERA Link.
Digital Switchover
By 2012 we'll all be digital!!
With the digital switchover starting area by area in
the UK this year we'll soon all be digital. With a new Panasonic Viera HD
Freesat TV you'll already be watching digital TV, so as soon as the switchover
happens in your area you won't need to do a thing.
Choosing Between Plasma & LCD?
When it comes to making a choice
between Plasma and LCD, size matters.
LCD is at its optimum performance up
to and including 37", whilst Plasma offers optimum performance at 37" and above.
A Panasonic Viera HD Freesat Plasma TV is a perfect example.
Which is
more energy efficient, Plasma or LCD?
Both are actually about the same
in normal operating conditions. An LCD screen consumption is constant whereas
Plasma fluctuates according to the brightness of a scene, eg when a scene is
predominantly dark, a Plasma will use less energy. All in all the energy
efficiency evens out for Plasma and LCD
Sharpness: Plasma was deemed to
provide the best sharpness experience by 61% of respondents compared to 22% for
LCD.
Colour: Plasma was deemed to provide the best colour quality by 65%
of people with LCD at 24%
Response speed: Plasma was earmarked as
providing the best quality for response speed by 62% of people, with LCD scoring
15%, nearly a quarter of respondents believe that both technologies provide a
similar performance.
Contrast: According to the survey. Plasma has the
best contrast performance (61% indicated that Plasma performed best compared to
26% for LCD)
The Panasonic Viera HD Freesat TV available in three sizes
42inch, 46inch, and 50inch to suit all rooms is a great example of a Plasma
TV .To get the best deals available on the panasonic freesat PZ81B 50"
